How Stressful Thinking Affects You

Stress is something which all of us deal with virtually every day; however, it is how we cope with stress that makes the difference between it holding us back or pushing us forward. When you’re under stress, your thinking is affected and you may be frenzied, harried and generally be thinking in ways which are unreliable – a lot of us spend our lives thinking (and acting) this way. You may think that this is simply an inescapable fact of life, but this is not at all the case.

In fact, it is easier than you may imagine to push those negative thoughts out of your mind… and it all starts with just one simple positive thought.

Negative Thinking, Positive Aspirations

Negative thought patterns affect the way that you look at the world around you and how you interact with others – and they do so in negative ways. By replacing these negative thoughts with positive thoughts, you can take control of your life and move forward in a positive direction. With some time and effort, you can change the way you think, starting with some positive affirmations.

If you sit down and look at a list of affirmations, at first you might not see anything but a list of positive sounding phrases, most of which may not seem to apply to you. However, upon closer examination, there may be many which are perfectly applicable to your life and reflect the way you want to think about the world. When you find an affirmation which you think will work for you, repeat it to yourself and use it to banish the negative thoughts you want to rid yourself of. What this does is begin the process of replacing a pattern of negative thinking with a positive one.

An affirmation is a positive statement which urges your subconscious mind to push you to achieve the things you want in life. Words are powerful things; they can bring up our emotions and when you find an affirmation which speaks to the very core of your being, repeating it can make it a reality for you.

If you are so burdened by negative thoughts that you think that there is no chance that any affirmation could possibly help you, keep with it and don’t give up!

To prevent negative thinking, use positive affirmations such as…

  • “I’m going to relax and have fun with this, no matter what the outcome may be.”
  • “Today I put my full trust in my inner guidance.”
  • “I grow in strength with every forward step I take.”
  • “I release my stress, feel calm and make room for victory!”

Affirmations like this will help you push out the negative emotions and start thinking positively. It may sound too good to be true, but as simple as it is, it really works. You can try it for yourself and start seeing the results – affirmations work and they really can work for you too!
